The Son, Steve Dudley
Since then, Jim’s son, Steve, joined the business and has continued running it successfully. Steve’s first job was in a bank before joining his Dad in the resurfacing business in 1975, as the manager. Eddie Dudley – Steven’s brother is one of the resurfacing specialists starting in the job in 1980, he ran the DUDLEY AND SONS Resurfacing in Durban South Africa .In 2008 immigrated to Australia, were he joined Steven.

How The Resurfacing Process Works
STEP 1 : First we pull out the old grout and silicon, followed by thorough cleaning of the surface with a blade to get rid of the mineral and soap deposits. Then we fill in all the chips, nicks and cracks following with sanding down the surface of the item. How the Bathroom Resurfacing Process Works
STEP 2 : Then we perform and acid etch with a acid on porcelain surfaces and acid clean on acrylic/fiberglass surfaces. This cleans the surface from any minor rust build up and other spots that are difficult to clean. It also leaves the surface ‘grippy’ so that the primer and top coat can really ‘stick’ to the item. STEP 3 : Now the item is clean and masked off. All the floor and other items which aren’t being resurfaced are covered with drop cloths. The item is ready to be coated. How the Bathroom Resurfacing Process Works
STEP 4 : Then we spray a epoxy primer that has an adhesion promoter added to the chemical before spraying. We apply two coats of primer. How the Bathroom Resurfacing Process Works
STEP 5 : The final step is the chemical coating, which duplicates the feel and look of the original porcelain. The actual chemical used in the final coat is an Aliphetic Acrylic Polyurethane Enamel. Is it durable?
You can trust the products we use, because our coatings are designed for their intended use and have been tried and tested world widefor over twenty years.

How long will it last?
You will get value for money from the longevity of a resurfaced room. A bathroom or kitchen area that has been resurfaced should easily last many years or longer with proper care and maintenance.

How do I clean my refinished surface?
Use only liquid cleaners that do not contain abrasives, bleach or chlorine for all porcelain, enamel or laminated surfaces.

Do you use dangerous acids to prepare the surface?
No. The chemical cleaners and bonding agent we use, means we don’t need to use out-dated and dangerous acids. This means waste and fumes are at a minimum.

Will it look painted?
Absolutely NOT. All coatings are applied by a high performance finishing gun. The refinished surface will make an old surface look new again. Spraying means the process is much faster, dries quickly and looks like it’s straight from the factory.

How long will it take?
A bathtub or bench-top can be completed in 4-5 hours. An entire bathroom will normally take a day and a complete and a kitchen only takes 2-4 days. That makes it easy to plan for and relatively quick in terms of disruption to the household.

How long before I can use my refinished surface?
The refinished surface is normally ready for use again in just 12 hours.
